Unity is the heart cry of our nation, and it is the heart cry of Heaven. In a world that is so divided, God is longing for His Bride to stand in unity. I have seen so much division in my life that it breaks my heart to watch what people deal with on a daily basis.
Have you ever heard the phrase comparison is the thief of joy? I own a jewelry business, and one of my biggest struggles (transparency moment) is keeping up with the trends of today. They are constantly changing. Every day, there is a new Tiktok song, dance, or challenge.
It is a hamster wheel of trying to keep up, until one day God stopped me. He asked me who am I trying to impress? My audience or Him?
God had to instill in me that my confidence is found in Him. My identity and my joy come from Him. We can be so divided with jealousy, selfish ambition, covetousness, the desire to be seen and be heard by comparing our lane with someone else’s.
Can I tell you something sister? You are so LOVED. You are so VALUED. You are PRECIOUS to God. He formed you in your mother’s womb.(scripture reference) He clothes you everyday. He heals, sustains and welcomes you with open arms. He has a plan for your life that is different from your sisters next to you.
I think there is so much division and discontentment in this world because deep down we are all longing for more of Jesus. He is the only one who can satisfy our wanting hearts. Yet, we look to social media and vogue models to tell us we are beautiful.
Truth is: You are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made. However, your beauty should be more than just a pretty face.
Colossians 3 says to clothe ourselves with something the world can’t give.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:12-14 (NIV)
The world does not need another beauty advertisement. The world needs to know there is a Savior who loves them. His name is Jesus. He can heal our wounds and calm our anxious hearts. Only He can show us how to love like He does. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made on purpose with purpose. Our purpose is to show the kindness and love we have received to a broken world.
Put on Christ. Clothe yourself in His attributes. You do this by getting to know Him. I love wearing my earrings, but when I wear them, I have to remind myself that even more importantly I should put on love.
The love of Jesus brings unity. The love of Jesus brings peace. Cheer your sister on. When she wins, we all win. It is easier said than done, I know. But Jesus is in the restoration business. He can heal, He can save, and He can change any heart.
