Hold On Just a Little While Longer | By Hannah Lecompte

When I was younger, I used to watch the show Deal or no Deal. There were about 30 boxes with different amounts of money in them. The contestant would pick a box without knowing the amount inside. The banker would then try to make them an offer and take their box. Most of the time, people gave in early and ended up with less than what was in their box.

There were times in my life that I felt the enemy would try to make me offers and take my box. When I was in college, I changed my major seven times. It took seven attempts to try to distract me and get me to pick something other than teaching. Now, I could not see myself doing anything else.

I was in a relationship that was not quite everything I had hoped for. When you are talking about a forever decision, there should not be any hesitation or confusion. This came right before I started dating my now husband who is everything and more than what I prayed for!

When we started house hunting, there was a house that had a good bit of what I was wanting. On the other hand, it had lots of red flags for when we would start a family like a steep driveway near the highway and being along the water. It was half a mile before the house that had the kitchen and big yard that I loved!

Most recently, we were trying to sell my car, and the Lord started to speak to me about worth. I had so many people try to buy it for way less than it was worth. Some wanted me to basically give it away. I could have gotten in a hurry and given in to the offers, but in the waiting, it was bought at full price! Never forget that you are worth every last penny that Jesus paid for you on that day.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

The Lord has spoken this verse over me in almost every season of my life. If you wait just a little bit longer, the Lord has exactly what you are praying for. If you do not give in and give up your gold, you will have everything and more that God has promised to you. He will strengthen you with His spirit to hold on just a little bit longer.

I have learned that God is a specific God. He gives us certain talents, desires, and longings for a reason. When we are specific in our prayers, we do not have to question whether or not it is God that is answering them.

Jesus is super practical and wants to be part of your everyday life. I love looking back and seeing His hand in the big and small parts of my life. He wants the same for you!
